Lake Rosine is small nature conservation reserve in western Victoria. Access is via Lower Darligton Rd, which is really a dirt track off Foxhow road. The track is a bit overgrown, but should be accessible via two wheel drive. Be careful of hot exhausts in the longer grass in hot weather.
I was here 25th of November, 2018. I’d not been out and about for ages, so this was a bit of a practice run. Hopefully I’ll be out a lot more through 2019.
When I was there the gate into the wheat paddock was open, so I drove through and setup on the lake edge. There’s no trees to hoist an antenna, so I set up three squid poles to hold my 80m OCF. Whilst the bands were pretty ordinary, 18 contacts were managed over the space of an hour or so.
